Ukrainian photography will be presented during the International Photo Festival in Korea – SUWON Photo Festival 2016.
November 4th, a third Photo Festival in the South Korean city of Suwon is opening. SUWON Photo Festival 2016 presents a special program of the festival Odessa//Batumi Photo Days this year the exhibition and evening-screening.
«One of the goals of our festival Odessa//Batumi Photo days is to popularize Ukrainian modern photography in the world. We are pleased to present Ukrainian artists in Korea for such a large photo festival»,— says Kateryna Radchenko, the curator and organizer of Odessa//Batumi Photo Days.
- The exhibition «Deformation» curated by Katerina Radchenko opens on November 4th.
The exhibition collected the works of seven artists from Ukraine, Belarus and Latvia. This seven-story series are on how changes occur in our countries and on the external factors that are forcibly changing shapes and borders of now «independent» countries.
Ukraine will be presented by: Alexander Chekmenjov, the Shilo Group, Vitali Fomenko, Maxim Dondyuk and the Zhuzhzhalka Group.

- In addition, the evening-screening of the selected works from the main exhibition «Territory//Space» by Odessa//Batuni Photo Days Festival 2016 will be presented within the Suwon Festival. Photo series being presented during the evening-screening are selected within the open-call for Ukrainian photographers.
These series were published for the first time in the format of the exhibition in Museum of Modern Art in Odessa during the Odessa//Batumi Photo Days 2016.
In the South Korea we can also see the photos of the participants from Batumi part of the Ukrainian festival who together with Jeauk Kang (Founder & Director SUWON Photo Festival) launched a free traveling exhibition named Trunk International Photo Festival.
We are also glad to report that thanks to the efforts of Odessa//Batumi Photo Days a series of Ukrainian photographer Konstantin Chernichkin named Ukrainian Cold Gold will be presented at the main exhibition within Seoul Photo Festival. The official opening was on the 11th of November, this year.
About the Ukrainian festival:
Odessa//Batumi Photo days is the Ukrainian photo festival presented at the international level. It took place for the first time in 2015. The festival is unique because of its non-commercial character and availability. It is held in two countries and cities – Odessa (Ukraine) and Batumi (Georgia). In 2017, Ukrainian part will take place in April and Batumi one – in September.
