Pavel Baňka (Czech Republic) – Lives and works in Prague. His work has been exhibited widely in many art museums and other prestige venues around the world. He is a founder and editor in chief of Fotograf Magazine [published since 2002] an international magazine for photography and visual culture.
Teaching experience: Since 1994 teaching full time on Faculty of Art and Design, UJEP, Usti nad Labem, CZ, as a head of Photography atelier.
From 2007 – 2012 teaching as a Visiting Professor on European Photography in Derby University, GB, also teaching as a visiting professor in Ohio University, Michigan University, University of Connecticut and several other art schools in the USA.
His own art work has been exploring medium of photography in unusually wide range: from documentary (portraits, groups, family portraits, as his series : Mothers and Daughters), than figurative and performative work, minimalistic landscapes (series INFINITY, AGRARIA, MARGINALIA), to interiors – MANSFIELD and abstractions.
