The Information Front – ‘Best International Media Collaboration’ at the House of Europe Awards 2026
On 7 May 2026, the award ceremony for the House of Europe Award took place in Kyiv – an award recognising cultural, media and educational projects implemented in partnership with the EU and the UK despite the challenges posed by a full-scale invasion. A total of 463 applications were submitted for the award by organisations and professionals from Ukraine, the EU and the UK, with 69 finalists shortlisted across nine categories.
The winner in the ‘Best International Media Collaboration’ category was The Information Front – a joint publishing and media initiative by the Odesa Photo Days Festival in support of Ukrainian photographers documenting the war.
About the project
The Information Front was founded by Kateryna Radchenko, director of the Odesa Photo Days Festival, Canadian photographer Donald Weber and British photographer Christopher Nunn.
The project’s creators view the publication as a tool to counter disinformation and propaganda. The first issue was published in 2022 and featured works by Ukrainian photographers from the early weeks of the full-scale invasion. All proceeds from the sale of The Information Front go towards supporting Ukrainian culture and photographers in partnership with Odesa Photo Days. To date, three full issues and a special edition in partnership with the Financial Times have been published – each dedicated to a separate aspect of documenting the war in Ukraine.
Festival comment
For us, this award confirms that The Information Front is doing exactly what it was created to do: giving a voice to Ukrainian photographers and bringing their testimonies to an international audience. We are grateful to House of Europe for recognising our work.
